compressor bracket broken

My A/C compressor bracket is broken on one side. What's it made out of? Can it be welded or do I need to find another one?

Looks to me like cast aluminum. Anyone have a part number for this bracket?

14084315 is the old part number for an 85 to 87...common part broken due to A/C compresser vibration :WYou can find them on ebay any time.

10055753 is for an 88.

GM went to a 2 part bracket fot 89 to 91.

upper is 10055753
lower is 10105223

92 thru 96 is a LT1

theres alot of corvette wrecking yard places selling parts on ebay motors, find one selling parts for corvette and e-mail them what you need you will be surprised. to bad you did let us know before the corvette show in Carlisle i am sure there were some there. i would think it possable its aluminum and some times can be welded? $50 for new one sounds like alot to me.

Damn! Wish I had seen this earlier today. There was one at Carlile and rrubel picked it up for me. I found one cheaper locally, but I already Paypaled him the money. If you're interested you could send me the money and I could have him ship it to you instead.

Bah. I found *ONE* at Carlisle, for Moonunit. Paid $40, was told it was hard to find used because they break due to the compressor vibration. If I'd have known they were only $50 new, I'd have just suggested he go that route.

if you decide to get another one, would you mind sending it to me matbe i'll try welding it? i have never really looked at mine, is it aluminum like most of the stuff? i had to tig a new ear on my throttle body and it worked.
