As many of you know, I now have my 85 Vette back. This is no ordinary 85. It is sporting 91-96 body panels, ZR1 rims (with 11" in the rear), lowering kit...and it is packing a punch with a 383 four bolt power head.

The problem is, the engine is currently in pieces! I did however slap it together to keep it in one place.

I have been thinking this through, and need to do it on a major budget. Here is the plan for the engine:

-leave it "as is" in terms of cam, pistons, etc.. (replace the burned piston)..
-install either a LT1 intake conversion, or a Miniram.
-re-use the ceramic coated headers, etc that are on the car.

I anticipate solid mid 12 second power with the above noted cubes and intake mods.

On the "looks factor", I am going for an all black and aluminum motif. I am thinking black valve covers, black block, black heads (they are ported, decked and punched out to 2.02/1.60 with pinned studds). Black accesories, and aluminum accents on the upper intake, bolts, etc.

It should work well with the overall super bad super black look of the rest of the car.

I have a line on a LT1 right now and have been looking at

www.lt1intake.com. I "think" I can get it all together and running again with the LT1 intake conversion around $500---and shoot for the 12s! If I have to look for a miniram, it will be a bit more.

I know Grumpyvette wants me to get a stealth ram. I would, if I could get it on a budget. Remember, I am also bumping a six speed in my 69 right now...and...the wife is pregnant. Me....on a budget! Can you believe it?

Oh, in the pic you can see the red 85 383 motor, and you can see my old 90 Vette (stock) motor tucked away under the work bench. Between the two and the other L98 I have under the other bench...I got a bunch of L98! Too bad I don't care for the L98 intake!

Motor looks good and so does the pic in the back!;LOL

You must be talking about Ms. Electra (sp?).

My brother-in-law insisted on decorating my shop for me after I painted his car a number of years ago. He picked out her and two other posters. He says that it now looks more like a "mans" garage!
