It also looks like Quanta did your driveshaft. They did mine too. A lot "prettier" than original, but so nice, that I clearcoated mine.

You are about as anal retentive as I am. Thing is, I'm driving my car now, so she probably won't remain as "cherry" as she is now.

Enjoy your car, she looks as nice as mine, and that is saying a lot.

You have a very nicely detailed underside of your car. Is your body a Smith or St.Louis. In either case, all your nut plates are not properly finished.
All St. Louis cars had the nut plates painted semigloss black, while A.O. Smith cars had all steel parts, including the birdcage, header bar, rad support, etc. assembled in zinc chromate.

thanks Joe

My car definatley is a st louis car.
And when I was detailing the bottom of the car I searched out what the correct finish was supposed to be and it was nautral black certainly would have been easeyer.I will have to check my notes to see what I had refrenced to determin it was supposed to be natrual.

And I actually used the quanta chassis detail kit.But the drive shaft I purchased new I did not use there restoration service only because they had a wait at the time I had inquired about the service

Buy the way do you have any photos you would like to share?
If you dont know how to post them just email them to me and I will post them

I guess I am old fashioned, but, unfortunately I don't have a digital camera (yet). I would certainly enjoy sharing images of my car with you, and other enthusiasts, but that will have to wait.

My car, which is a 1965 A.O. Smith bodied car, has the outboard rear seat attaching nut plates finished "natural", which, in my case, means satin clearcoat.

All others, including the rear bulkhead vertical stiffener, require more investigation. If your car body was a Smith body, I could help you more. I do remember, however, that Lt Loo used black painted steel parts, rather than ZnCrO4 prior to ass'y. Whereas Smith used ZnCrO4 parts, which offer much better corrosion resistance.
