Console Icons

I am repainting my 1986 center console. I am looking for clear pictures of the power seat, power mirror and power window icons so that I can create decals to put on after painting.

I'd love to replace mine, they are barely legible and I have never seen any replacements for them.

I think the original graphics are silk screened onto the console plate. You will need some clean artwork to reproduce the graphics. Have you tried a local sign shop in your area? Some shops have just about any artwork you can think of on CD Rom files. If they have a vinyl cutting machine they may be able to cut out some realy clean and sharp graphics for you that you could apply to the console.

Is this something like you had in mind?? It's from an '86. The guy is selling it on e-bay for $20. Might be worth just getten it.

How do you make a decal if you have artwork?

I'm quite handy at creating art, so I might be able to make some vector graphics for you, but I don't have the originals either, as mine have all worn off.

I thought I had seen a good view of the icons in one of the Vette parts catalogs. Took a look this morning and found the one in the Mid America Motorworks, C4 specific book, on pg. 4-98. Its actually showing a console lid cover for the opening, but the graphics are very clearly displayed. I'm sure you could make some graphics from them. I will see if I can scan the two pics with good enough clarity for you, and post them up. Good luck.

I was surfing the web recently, and it crosses my mind that I have seen decals for sale somewhere. I'll try to goback and look and get the URL.

I really could use them for the 85 too.
