I have a 94 Coupe, not that it makes a difference to this question concerning console lids. My lid has split at the corner and is trying to come unattached on the passenger edge. I have seen a few others that have done the same thing. I attempted to super glue it but that only lasted for a short while.

My question centers around the question, should I buy a new Console Lid or should I buy a Leather Console Cushion in hopes that the cushion will cover the tear and hide the buckling?

Or perhaps I should do both?

I would appreciate hearing how you that have had this problem solved it.

Not sure if it's the same lid as my 88, which did the same thing. I took the lid completly off and then took it completly apart. From that point, I was able to glue then clamp it together untill dry. Worked fine and is still together two years later.

I had the same problem with my 90 and took it completely apart, glued it and clamped it. I used 3m spray adhesive and it's still holding after 11 years. I bought a new lid from GM and I never used it.
