Have you considered a "pier-style" garage? :boogie
That's a pretty big creek you've got there.

I guess it is a good thing you didn't start the garage back in the fall.

Read Above Post............

So what the problem? A little water above the ground? That's why they make machinery that can put pipes "UNDER" the ground to keep the driveway to the beer keg DRY!!! Oh, and if you just so happen to keep the Corvette or any old run of the mill car back there, they will also stay dry with the right drainage and piping. Better you see this now than after you build the new "He Man Woman Hater Clubhouse". Elevation, drainage all the way around the place and out to and off the property. So, what was that fishing question again?

Remember this Picture....

When next year and every year after you see your creeper and everything on that floor level floating towards the door:W

we have two 8" tiles thru our place, sometimes the neighbors' field looks like a lake on either side of us;LOL

If I remember I'll take some pictures.

:boogie:boogie Aren't you glad we nixed the idea of driving DOWN into the garage! ;LOL

My neighbour told me not to worry when I ran up to him whining about the river. :W :ohnoes

"Relax. It'll be gone in no time.", he said.

I thought he'd been drinking some of his home-made wine, but damn if he wasn't right. :eek

DAMN! That looks gorgeous. I would be proud to have that for a house, let alone a garage.
If the overhang on the right were a little bigger, you could put a nice patio out there and have a place for a glass of wine and a cigar after a long day of working on heaven :m

Now tell me, REALLY, did any of you know MsSchroder is a cigar smoker? ;LOL;LOL

Gotta echo her thoughts though. Soften that slope to raise the bottom of the overhang about a foot and you should have room for a good patio.

Nice looking Structure Bob! :beer

So after looking at plenty-o-ideas, I think I like this one. There's room on one end for a very high lift.

Comments (pro or con) please.

Sweeet .. Where's that gee rage at..??

It seems to me that I said something about drainage way way early on, didn't I? ;)

Could you install a berm to at least decrease the water flow?

That garage looks sweet!

Jim,

A few days ago, I would have welcomed that suggestion, but it really is shocking how quickly the water dissipated. :eek

There was close to two feet of snow on the field, so if I only face a day-and-a-half of runoff each Spring, I'll put up with it.

Where the water flows onto my property during snow-melt.

The garage will be plenty high. A small portion of the driveway will be under water for a day or two. ;shrug

My intention was to use GRASS PAVERS to hide the driveway, so I'm reluctant to get involved in building up the low area and adding a culvert for such a temporary problem. Besides, if HEAVEN needs a wash, I'll just stop in the driveway and sponge her off. :D

Here's what it looked like just a few days ago.

He's probably laughing at the "City Boy" right about now.;LOL
