I just had a run in with 2 other vettes at the streets of woodfield in schaumburg. I was not the fastest but I did have the best launch of the three. Both other vettes had been modified. My vert is an 03 stock Z51 with 13k. One was a 99 coupe with about 35k, the other was a 01 coupe with 50k. They both were in disbelief that I was all stock. The vert is a little heavier but not slugish at all.

I voted for the Z06. We just bought ours July 1st. We've had a '67 Convertible, '72 T-Tops and a '94 Targa top. Even though the Z06 is a hard top, the power makes up for not having the wind in your hair. This car is just so incredible. I think it's having the six speed. I guess I'm probably the only woman I know that really would prefer to shift than have an automatic. The '94 was the only automatic and I really did miss shifting. There's nothing like going thru the gears.

Hi Joe -

I voted Z06.

After driving the coupe with the targa, I like it, and it's nice, but I like the fixed roof , and of course the performance , much better.

But that's just me.... :D

best regards -

The Z06 is my fave C5.

My choice is convertible with the F55 option (Magnetic Selective Ride Control).

Z06 or Convertible What's a Guy to Do?

I solved the issue. Took it Lingenfelter. Now it's just drop the top and rock.

Intake system, heads and cam. Added another 100 HP. Plus lowered the car 1" all around.

Beauty and the Beast! The best of both worlds. Now you have some serious horsepower to complement such a beautiful car. Congratulations!!:beer

That is correct.

The question if I remember correctly was more about body style than anything else.

Is Hard Top ( Fixed Roof Coupe) a Body Style? Is Z06 a Body Style or a Designation of performance type ? Dr C5

Well simular to the MY vs QS thread not incorporating red, green, black, or white. This thread left out a lot of choices. Otherwise people might only vote for what they have.

Good point, Dr. C5. The Fixed Roof Coupe (often abbreviated FRC) is the body style, noted for the fact that it does not have a removeable roof panel, and has a sort of notched back rear window and rear deck lid (rather like the Convertible.)

The Z06 is a performance performance package introduced into the FRC beginning in 2001 that brought the LS-6 engine into the production run. Notwithstanding that, the Z06 is still a FRC in terms of body style, but it's a body style that since 2002 has only come with the Z06 upgrades.

Think of it this way: since being introduced in 1999, during the C5 production run, all Z06's are FRC's, but not all FRC's are Z06's. So the poll was inaccurate in that it didn't link the FRC's in as a selection.

OK- let's break this down a little further. The FRC was around before the Z06 was a Z06 but later when it became the Z06 it wasn't the FRC anymore.....no wait, that doesn't seem right. Let me try again. Once upon a time there was a ..........oh forget it. :L

Thank you Patrick, I am glad to see our a over aboundance on information, enough to make us seem creepy, can make up for a novice mistake. You rock, thanks for getting my back.
