Coolest Corvette Ever!

Showing an older Vette these days at car shows is totally unreal. For some reason judges seem to think that going and buying a brand new Vette and practically bring it straight to a show gives it the right to be best of show. I've even seen sometimes that changing the valve covers do it for them as well. To me, car shows are meant to be for the true classics, not some spotless car right off a showroom floor. Just my opinion.

Must be the area. Around here (the Great Lakes region, NE Ohio specifically) we are said to have the highest concentration of classic cars in the country. Bringing a new car to a show is just about worthless. Some shows have even gotten to the point where they don't take anything newer than 1972.
Kinda sucks because my car doesn't even get noticed.;shrug

Very nice....most of the early Vettes in SoFla are too modified to have any dignity. I'm generalizing.

Yenkoguy....Welcome to the :CAC

Be sure to stop in to the New Members Introduction section and introduce yourself!

The last car show I was at (Corvettes @ Corsa) had a Yenko vette there with the original invoice. :upthumbs

My 81 has been fortunate to recieve 11 trophies over the last 3 seasons at car shows.

Maybe it is the rare color combo or originallity or what, but i do get a lot of looks and compliments by people of all ages.

I also avoid the car club sponsored events as the judging is usually biased towards the members.

I couldnt agree more.

Was at a show last month where quite a few c-1 c-2 and c3 vettes were well represented, and the trophies for the corvette class, all years went to a new 08 z06 and 2 c5's.
