Cooling mystery

Here's the location of the main fan relay. That's the fan inside the engine compartment. The fan relay is the one on the left in the picture.

If anyone knows what the relay to the right of the fan relay does, I'm "all ears".;LOL

bad hot lead

I had a similar problem .....turned out to be a bad hot lead to the relays.....I just cut it and ran it to a switched hot lead and the problem was reaolved!

It would have been easier to replace the Burnt Fusible Link behind the battery on the distribution block!! :D:D:D

fusable link

yes it would have been easier to replace the fuseable link, but it was not in need of replacement!!! It was intact.....but thanks for the thought!

I believe it is the fuel pump relay and identical to the fan relay. that makes it easy to check, because if you swap plugs and the car won't start, the relay is bad.

Those re;lays are not expensive, but are now made in China. I tell ya, it was damn hard to hang a Chinese part on my Vette.

Are you in a high corrosion area, i.e., salty air from the water? That may be a clue about whether you have grounding issues, which are relatively rare in most of CA. :w
