Correct wheel center cap??

Which is the correct wheel centers for the '81, is it all chrome or is it black and chrome? I have both and want to have the correct ones on.

Chrome with black centers....that's what I thought and those were the new ones I bought, along with a new set of chrome lug nuts.

What year had the black sides with the chrome centers?

I believe the only year to NOT HAVE black inserts in the center cap (for the aluminum wheel) is the 1982. I think they are silver with the 1982 cross flags. The 1980 & 1981's share the same logo on the center which is the nose type flagging, while the previous years are crossed flags..

I had a few things from Mid-America Motorworks (www.mamotorworks.com) under my Christmas tree, to include two center caps and emblems. Of all the suppliers, I'm pretty happy with MAM, and luckliy my wife has easily found her way around their catalog and website!

Bought the set of wheel centers off of ebay...from Elmer's Corvette Supply. I think they were around $40 for the set. I have had them for about 4 years now and just put them on the car last week.
