corvette exhaust no cats

I am planning to remove my cats on my 2000 a/4 coupe. Do I need new rear exhaust sensors to fool the computer so I dont get the SES engine lights on the dash? and has anyone done this performance exhaust procedure? Is the sound nice? any performance increase? I not sure how much of a power increase it will be. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. edramos.
