Well guys,

another vehicle has caught my eye, and I believe that this may be the time to let go of my vett. I will post pics of it later on to this thread.

This '77 is a custom convertible. A whale tale spoiler and LT1 style spoiler has been installed, but can be removed. There's a 82 style rear bumper on the car as well.

Engine: Aftermarket 350. Stock bore. Oversized valves. Dart II Iron Heads. New 750 Edelbrock Carb. Edelbrock RPM Performer Manifold & Edelbrock street performer Cam. Spring kit inside distributor. High output coil & module. 8mm wires. Custom loom. 14" air filter.

S.S. lined o-ring type brake calipers. S.S. braided flex lines. New brake bads.

New fiberglass monospring. New VBP strut rods. New gear differential brace cushions. Rear trailing arms professionally rebuilt including rotor run-out. New driveshaft bushing. (poly) All new heavy duty driveshaft and half-shaft U-joints. All new KYB gas shocks. Great tires. New 4" hooker sidepipes with spiral baffles and JetHot coated with heat resistant metallic coating.

Interior: '82 seats. (will give up original 77 seats as well) All new heat barrier and sound barrier (2 separate leayers). Anti-rattle window cushions. Carpetted.

Know problems.
1.A/C non-functioning. (no compressor, but should have the brackets)
2.Engine starts to overheat during hot summer. (due to nice-looking custom fan. Either stock fan or larger fan will remedy this.
3.Small transmission leak. (2200-2800 torque converter has been ordered and front seal will be replaced.)

Will take $9k right now OBO. I will start working on the repair list, and the price may adjust depending on the task completed.

Thanks,

-Vic

Bob,
I've been looking into a 2005 or 2006 Lotus Elise. (see www.lotuscars.com) I feel so bad, because I would have to sell my vette, to get this new car.
I have had the vette for close to 10 years now. I know every part of it. I've only had it on the road for a few months now, and that is only on a nice weekend.
I don't know how much my car is truly worth, but if someone wanted to perform a convertible conversion, they would likely spend $5k or $6k. (maybe more...) They could just take my car, put a paint job on it, add a little cosmetics, and you got it!
I'm crossing my fingers for the Lotus, though. But if I can't get it, it's still not too bad, as long as I have my vette.

Just make sure you can fit in it before you sell your Vette, the scuttlebut is they are a tight fit. You probably would not be able to take Bob or myself for a ride ;LOL

hehe...:)

I'm 150 (ish) and my wife is lighter than I. The idea is to sell the vette, then I have no choice BUT to get the Lotus. If I cannot get a good price for my car, then it was meant for me to care for it a bit longer.

Bossvette, I suppose that I'll just have to hitch a ride with you or Bob, if I get the lil Lotus!

I have always liked the Lotus, but would never fit in one ;LOL

back in 1966 they made this one:

I stood next to one and it came just to above the Waist and weighed about 1500 LBS

Hello Bossvette, I noticed the pic of your 76 on your signature. It looks really nice any additional photos I can check out?

Im very close to you, in Fort Wayne. Im looking for a C3 project of you know of any.

Thanks!

The brakes have been repaired. Next weekend a new torque convertor will be installed with new front seal.

Torque converter is in! 2200-2800 stall. I'm likely going to install a new TCI Street Fighter transmission with it. It will have a solid drive train!
