Making progress with the wiring mess thanks to all who have helped on here . . . the bottom of the dash has been cut up in my 64 which is fixable but I cant tell how the courtesy lights for the lighter, ignition switch and . . maybe the wiper switch were mounted . .the holders are gone etc . . so I need to make up some holders but I'm not sure how the lights were pointed and where exactly there were placed?? The bottom of the trim piece that slides on the steering column is missing too . . were the bulbs mounted on that?

Do you have an assembly manual? If not, get one and it will save you a lot of frustration. The bulb holders/shields for the ignition and lighter snapped into slots/holes in the housings - if you don't have the original housings and bulb holders, you'll need to get them.
