I can't imagine how you'd replace it without removing the dash, but I'll defer to anyone that's done it before. My guess is at the least you'll have to remove the center gauge bezel & wiper controls to get to the back of the tach assembly (and right turn signal indicator) to replace the bulb, and it could get even uglier. But like I said, others who've done it will hopefully pass on their bulb-replacement wisdom......
You'll have to remove the vent assy, but you can reach up behind dash and replace bulbs, remove them by pulling away from back of tach, not on the wire, by the holder.
If you are patient and can get your arm up in there , disconect the middle lower bulb by the connector not the wiring. If you take out the dash it will say something like " dk blue " on the steel above the bulb inlet.
How do you know bulb works and if it does , does it work in that socket? If so then I'd suggest tacing back to turn signal harmess which you can also get to under dash, but it doesn;t make sense, blinkers blink and indicator doesn't, almost seems like socket problem.
I pulled out another bulb from behind the dash and used that to test...but as I found today, my test was flawed...that bulb must have been burnt out as well (or maybe it only functions when plugged back into the dash?). It's funny that they both looked OK. I swung by Wal-Mart and picked up 2 replacment bulbs for $1.80.
Problem solved.
I was lucky enough to have the center console removed, cuz going from underneath looked like it was going to be a real PITA...much easier getting at it from the side...
