Dash Vents not working. Anyone know how to fix?

Hola everyone,
The only air I am getting is from the heater vents down at my feet on the driver and passenger compartment. Does anyone know where the valve is to switch it from the floor to the dash vents?

I have tried moving the switch all around, and I don't think the switch is the problem.. My AC compresser kicks on and everything, just no air at all comming from the top.

Any help would be great, as I live in FL and the temp has been climbing over 100 the last couple days....

Hello Ech,

The problem for the top vent is that it doesn't fit very good. Mine had a 1/2" space between the upper and lower part. For the side vents, they are the same channels as for your feet. The only difference is that the dash vents are a separate piece at the end (left and right) so I think again, maybe they are disconnected.

I suspect that it's the diverter valve in the center stack. I don't understand how exactly it works only that it controls whether you get vent, defrost or floor.

Here's a link to the overall system and a link sepcifically showing the various actuators and vacuum lines. The vent door actuator is the one I'm talking about thought it could be a combination of actuators.

Good luck. I have developed the same problem but just haven't had the desire to look at it.

You may need to replace the vacuum switch(a/c, heater,vent,)...the top lever isn't working.It is under those levers in the console.Take the side rug off and walla....I changed mine out and everything works as it should now.$12 part,no more aggravation.I got it at the dealer.There is a picture of it in my thread about (4 or 5 vacuum lines).The funny thing is, the OEM replacement part is engineered way better than the original.This one should last and not split apart at the rivet.

Again, you guys are awsome! Was way too hot in the garage yesterday to work on anything (wall thermostat read 121). I threw a couple fans on this morning and turned on the AC, so when I get home, I'll check all that stuff out. Will give you an update on what the problem actually was in tommorow.
