Went to get in my 2008 vert today and the door or trunk wouldn't open! Tried my other fob and it worked fine! Im guessing that the battery in the fob is dead. Do you have to get these batterys at the dealership or can they be purchased at any parts store? Also what do they usually cost?

Radio shack ,Best Buy ,possibly wall mart .$$$ not much .Look at your owners manual but it's wise to plug it into the FOB slot in your glove box for awhile for programming .:thumb

CR2032 as I recall - you can get them just about everywhere - walmart, cvs, radio shack.
Pop the fob open, put in the new battery and snap it back closed. Unless it's be dead for a long time, it shouldn't need reprogramming.

Thanks for the replys: Went to Radio Shack and picked one up for $6.00. Put it in and everything works fine! Almost wish I had bought two batteries and put one in the other fob that never gets used and has sit in a drawer for the last five years! (It still works though) Thanks again!

All my cars use this keyless FOB system and I keep spare batteries in my toolbox. First sign of trouble, the FOB gets a new battery.
