Difference between LS1/LS6?

Ok I know the block specs that make the LS1 and LS6 different. What I want to know is how I can tell a LS6 block from the outside with the engine in the car? Are there numbers that I can access? I am having a 427 built for me and installed in my car and I want to be able to verify that a LS6 block was used. I will not be able to actually be there when all the work is done.
