Don't know much about Dakota other than they are expensive as all crap, but I am going to be installing the Nordskog Performance unit in my 68 soon. The only issue I have uncovered with them is they say their unit, although carring a lifetime warranty is extremely apt to fry itself if a high voltage spike (about 20 volts) hit the electronics, like when battery charger is connected to the car when the dash is energized. This includes the charger being connected and the then the car's ignition being turned on. They say it will not happen all the time, but if the charger produces a 20 volt spike, the dash electronics are toast, and may not be under the warranty. Not a problem unless the ignition is turned on while charging. I am looking to install a voltage shunt that will ground any 15 volt spike to prevent this, but have not found a way to do this yet. Talk to their tech support, that is how I found out about it.
