Dimmer Switch on a 87 Convertible

I had to change the turn signal switch on my 87 that went well. however the high beams still do not work, the actuator on the turn signal level does not work, When i had the steering wheel off and turn signal switch out I was able to access the lever, when depressing the actuator for the high beams with a flat blade screwdriver the high beams did not work, Do I need a new level, it has cruise and they want over $ 100.00 just for the lever?

Sounds to me like you might have accidently left out a part, or the part became disconnected somehow.
