Anybody have a recommendation on Disc brake conversion kits for a '62? I have looked at a few manufacturers, and think SSBC has a good quality product in their Force 10 twin piston aluminum calipers. BTW, I'm also looking for a conversion kit for a '55 Thunderbird, but SSBC doesn't seem to go back that far with T-Birds.

Dan,

You might try searching in this forum. I think the subject has come up before. Also search the NCRS Tech Board Archives. This has been a hot topic over there off and on. www.ncrs.org .

As for the T Bird, I have a friend with a '57 that he had a variety of big block Fords in back in the '60s. He was saying something one night about a conversion using all Ford parts. I'll have to ask him about it. No, he hasn't done the conversion. His car has been basically used as garage shelving for at least 30 years.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the NCRS. And I'll look into the archives. Let me know what your friend says about the Ford, if you talk to him.

Hello,
My name is Andy, I live in Fairfax. I used JMT Autos Kit. The cost is under $500 and is super. The owner Tom Hauslein is great his phone number is 727-942-7458. You can come by an check out the set I installed on my 1960 if you want.
I hope this helps. You can contact me at awilco@hotmail.com I do not get on this site much.

Thanks for the info Andy. Be sure to stop by more often.

Tom
