HI

I noticed this weekend that my front passenger fog/directional light cluster has accumulated dirt.

How does this come out or should l leave it alone?

There seems to be some kind of foam wedged in between the cluster and the body.

To me it looks like a jigsaw puzzle.

Thanks

Alan

p.s. I still need help locating a hot wire, check my other thread.

The fog lamp assemblies can be removed once you have remove the front bumper cover. There are a number of nuts and screws around the perimeter of the cover and you wil also have to remove the front air dams.

The fog lamp assemblies are glued and sealed and you cannot dismantle them without breaking the halves apart. Even though dust gets into the housing, it's very difficult to clean them.

The honeycomb and foam you see is the part of the bumper that absorbs a front collision impact.

Why G.M.??????????????????????

Thanks

That has to be one dumb design feature for sure. Boy am l glad l asked before l started to play around.

:hb I was just about to say, ¨I did, please don’t¨. The fog lights were designed by the same $@B that put the tail light screws on the back side of the bumper.:mad I think that we dropped the 383 into Thunder in less time than it took us to convert the tail and fog/signal lamps to Euro lenses.

Drives one to drink!

Which is really not bad if you are not driving! The reasoning behind these design features baffles my mind and l'm sure it has a real reason to it.

Sometimes l feel they design features so you are forced to bring it to a dealer.

Oooooooo! Don't EEEEVEN get me started on fog lamp assemblies! Ok, so I won't get started. But one thing please, I had a TIME just getting replacement bulbs up in there!!! (I'd just like to meet the twit that sat down and thought up that entire feature on the C4s! Get my hands around HIM/HER like I had to Cirqe De Soleil my hands up in the bumper just to replace a friggin' bulb! Sheesh!!!!)

Thanks for your advice!!!

Lately I was thinking how dirty my foog lamps are!!! :eyerole

Well... thanks God I've found these posts! Now I think they'll stay that way for another year!

BTW: Nice to read from you Spanish! ¿How is that 383? :w
