Do I have a Bose system?

Greetings! I recently purchased a 1985 coupe (my first Vette). It currently has a Pioneer unit in it, but I was thinking of replacing the original stereo back into the car. I was given a GM OEM type stereo by the previous owner who told me that particular stereo came out of it. It does not say "Bose" on it, although the rear speaker grills do have the "Bose" insignia. Did all the 85 coupes come with Bose? How do I know if mine did come with a Bose stereo or not?

The Pioneer unit has a buzz and needs replacement. I was thinking of putting the old original GM stereo back in simply because I'm a family man and trying to keep expenses down.

Yes all 85's had the Deloc/Bose systems

Yes all 85's had the crappy Bose units, I put a JVC Cd player in my 87 and it made a world of difference.

My '95 has a stock Delco/Bose Gold in it. It's designed for you to put a kicker in the back. I can't, because the NOS bottle and roll cage won't allow it, but it still sounds pretty good. If you have enoughg room back there put a JVC kicker in and you can **** off the whole neighborhood!
