You might want to post a review of the product and your impression of the work involved in tackling a project like that, in our PRODUCT REVIEWS AND EVALUATIONS section of the TECH CENTER.
I would not install them at all unless I knew that they were properly made and designed expressly for extreme braking use. Most of the low-end drilled rotors are drilled after the rotor is cast and machined. This tends to weaken the casting around the drilled holes. Extreme heat from braking like you see at track days will cause radial cracks to form around the holes and this leads to rotor failure.
And if Murphy's Law is correct they will fail at the exact moment you absolutely need the brakes. :eek
You are correct, if you look at my picture the ones I installed do not have 10,000 holes to make the rotor "look cool". I've talk to a lot of Z28 owners, Porsche and some crack some don't. If Murphy's luck arrive, I put the originals back on, I already did a 85-0 extreme braking and they did great
I installed slotted only about a month ago, and noticed a healthy increase in braking power, and they tamed that rusty rotor syndrome. I also noticed a substantial increase of the by-product of that better braking...brake dust!! Oh well, I guess we have to take the bad with the good.
