I treated my first Vette (91 coupe) like it was a princess... washed, waxed, vacuumed... no rain, emaculant... kept it only 6 months then ordered a 1993 Z07. Ditto on the upkeep, then one day when it was about 8 month's old, it was broadsided by a low flying Datsun B2000.... I was lucky to be alive, and the car had over $15,000.00 worth of body damage.
The car was repaired. From that point on, I decided to drive it whenever I wanted, rain, shine, snow, sleet, hail.... but you know what... I had more fun with that car after I decided to enjoy it rather than be it's slave. My 2002 Z06 is the same; it gets a real good wash when I drive it in the rain, it has two stone chips in the windshield from meeting a semi that threw up stones as it passed, but I'm loving every second behind the wheel. Dirty or clean, it's fun to drive. I don't do shows with it, so I'm not concerned about losing points, I just enjoy it for what it is... a Corvette. If your not "showing" your Vette, don't let time pass you by, enjoy it. But be safe too.
