You mentioned that the L98 can easily make it into the 11s with the right mods...but how would I go about finding out what those mods are (remember, I'm completely mechanically inept)? Should I try to talk to a local speed shop? If so, how do I find one...and a good one at that? Any suggestions? Thanks again everyone :)

Talk to guys on the Forums.. look into what other peopl who have L98s are running ETC.

After you settle on a car plan out your motor, don't just throw parts at it..

Just so you know,LPE wont touch the L98 cars anymore, theyre too old now.SO unss you know John or someone there personally, they wont touch those cars anymore.
I stopped by there 3 years ago and they told me they only do LT1's and Up Vettes for tuner packages.

However,if you want to buy a 1990 LPE modifed Vette with a 383 Super Ram engine, automatic, and can hit the 11's on slicks, let me know.I know someone online who has one for sale and the car is extremely well maintained and fanatically kept up.I think he wants less then 19K.If I had an extra 15-19 grand or so laying around,id buy it.
:)

I would look into a car that is already done if possible. It would be much cheaper to find one already where you want it. Take a look at the classified ads over on Lingenfelters site. I saw a few LPE 383 Vettes there.
