Greetings friends,
My 81 is getting ten to the gallon on a freshly rebuilt engine. I know the stock M4VE carb is messed up and I have to run with the solenoid unplugged for it to run decently. It also fails SMOG checks regularly.
So a couple of questions if you will...
1. Is the distributors computer advance still operational with the carb unplugged and the check engine light on?
2. How does the Edelbrock Q-Jet replacement work on our cars? I see one listed for 1980 Chevies that would probably be the right one. Any recommendations for a replacement carb?
