Electric Windows Not Working

Hi, I recently repaired my Tach with a new circuit board and now my electirc windows don't work. I took the console apart and everything looked okay. I don't have a fuse in the fuse box for the windows so I suspect that my C3 uses an inline fuse. What I think is really wrong, is that I disconnected something in the dash somewhere. Can you help with any ideas? Thank you. Ken

The power for the windows is supplied from one of the "IGN" plugs on the fuse panel, out under the hood to a circuit breaker mounted, (in 74 anyway), to the firewall just inboard of the brake booster. 10ga. line runs from there, back inside the car to the relay under the console.

Wow, you're a life saver. I'll check it out ASAP. Thanks much

Okay, my windows are finally fixed. I'm embarassed to say, that the problem after tearing apart the interior and tracing the problem; I found that the ING wire was pulled out of the fuse box. I plugged it back in and voila my windows work again.

For the record, if any of you have a problem with your electric windows: here is the sequence to trace the problem. First, there is a relay located inside the console just underneath the radio. The purpose of the relay is to activate the power to the windows when the ignition is turned on. There is a continous hot lead (orange & black) to the relay and a second wire (pink & black) coming from the fuse box underneath the dash on the driver side. When the ignition is turned on, the lead from the fuse box becomes live and activates the relay to supply power to the window switches. The wire from the relay to the window switches on the console is red & white. If you have any questions about tracing this problem feel free to contact me at krscholz@msn.com.

HI,

I just got the same problem today. the ING wire is pluged in the fuse box. So do you think I have a bad Relay?
