My 81 has a block casting number 14010207 listed as TRUCK, could it come from the factory this way??? thanks ron

All '81 and '82 and some '80 Corvettes came with that casting number block. It was used in a very wide variety of vehicles, not just trucks.

As mikey already said that is the correct casting number for the block.
You can tell if its the original by looking in front of the head on the passenger side. There should be a pad there with the part of your VIN stamped on it, as well as some other numbers used to ID the motor.
