I'm looking at a block, my car that was born on Dec 11 or 12th 1963 ( I think)serial number 40867S107354, the numbers on the block are as follows; 3782870, dated K143, has a GM and a 4 by these numbers and something I dont understand - it has "Fuller" stamped there as well. On the front stamp plate it has F1116R. Is this the "right" block for my car? Someone said it was a crate motor??

"R" is a 1962-64 327 250 HP manual trans pass car engine

You have a block out of a full-size Chevy rather than a Corvette, assembled Nov 16th. The block casting number and casting date are correct for your car, but it is not the engine that originally came in your car.

Update: I just realized you are LOOKING for a block for your car... this one will probably do the trick. But, I'm not familiar with the "Fuller" marking... where is it and is it stamped, or raised casting letters?

Wayne - I havent seen the block but was concerned about the "fuller" marking - no sense going to the trouble of changing engines if its not the "right" block - I suppose I could grind off the fuller but I'm curious about it - and I dont know if the numbers are raised or not - that would be important too? The block is here in colorado so I"ll probably go look at it but dont really know what to look for other than obvious damage - supposedly it has a 350 steel crank, displacement is 364, bored .30 over and ran great before this corvette owner pulled it out of his 63 vette to put a "correct" motor in his.
