I have been thinking of stroking it to a 383 since they have to redo the whole thing. What else do you need to do to the motor/computer? Thanks

You will need machine work done to the block for increased cubes and clearances, crank, rods bearings, pistons, rings, and gasket set. And that's just the begining, cause why stroke it if you're not gonna do the heads, cam, intake, headers, and exhaust. Figure in the range of $4,000 up. Occasionally you can find one that's been built by someone who know's what their doing that wants to off one, but it's fairly rare, and you could save quite a bit of money. That's what I did.

Oh yea, and if you're running an auto, figure about an additional $2,500 + for the trans beefing and a D44 ;) Still wanna stroke? rrubel is the guy that I'm aware of who has most recently completed a stroker.

Actually, I didn't stroke it - it's still 350 or a little bit over. Wasn't going for all-out performance... and when all's said and done, it'll STILL have cost me about $4k. But that's for essentially replacing every single part in the engine between the radiator and the mufflers.

Oops, my mistake Rich, don't know how I misunderstood that, guess cause of all your intake and stuff I just..... Oh well.

Ya, it's a LOT of bank to do the job right Vettefan, but 3+ seconds from stock just don't come cheap, better luck to ya this time around :beer

'sawright... I did enough to it that I'm not surprised you thought I'd made a 383.

Were I doing that, I think I'd have done a different intake, though.

Just as an update. Well after the rebuilders have had the motor for a week, they called to tell us the cause of the motor failure was abuse, and it running rich. Now maybe I am a dumb*** but when I changed the oil at 500, and at 1500 there was no fuel to be found, or when I would check on the dipstick. The Corvette shop swears to me that they got the mixtures right and I belive them over these blow holes that are rebuilding the motor. So now my parents are very upset because they now think that I beat the car, and they have no idea what beating a car is after watching Mic's videos :L. I am getting ready to go out there and look at them and I will take some pictures and post them here so you guys can see.
