Engine Swap Tips

Hey everyone. I'm still in the process of painting my engine and getting the top half put back together. With warm weather coming back into the picture it's made me realize I'm almost to the phase of actually swapping the engine.

The front end of the car seems really long. Does anyone have any pointers as to the easiest way to pull the engine? Is it easier from the front or side of the vehicle? Is it easier to pull the tranny with it or leave it in?

Thanks.

Recently I pulled the engine and transmission together, from the driver's side, had to remove the driver's side tire. We tried from the front, the length of the nose of the car, the engine lift would not reach. I had 2 buddies over, 1 drove the engine lift, and the other help guide the engine/transmission. I was under the car with a jack on the transmission.. it came out in about 40 minutes. I had everything disconnected prior. Hope this helps.
