hi there guys,
how are you.
i come from Australia.
i am interested in buying a set of euro pean tail light rear lenses for my 1991 corvette.
can any one please let me know if it is easy to convert them over with the new wiring harness that you can buy with them?

does it take long to convert?

do i have to cut all the old wiring or just connect the new wires up?

any advice would be greatly appreciated very much.
thanks guys

Sorry can't help with your question, but i'm sure many will chime in. Any way welcome to the forums.:beer

But why??? In Europe we do our best to get the european lights off the car and have the original restored.

r.e euro lights!

hi there guys,
thanks for the reply!
i like the look of the euro half/half lights cause there different and not pepole have them here in australia!
plus i want to add my clear lenses to them as well!
i like the fact that all the lights have brake lights and indicators working!
it looks better when you brake cause all the lights light up instead of just two and the middle one working ,same as with the turning signals!

do you have the set already ?
In the UK there are many versions available also clear lenses and as I understood they come with an installation manual.

I had the inner lights as stoppers and the outer as turners. but all four were the original red.

when changing back to original I found 3 cables and 1 of them was to connect both lights. so the other 2 are for the signal stop or turn.
it should be easy installation with a multimeter.

but as JPS already said, Most europeans converting back to US

for example the European C5 have these stupid reflectors in the bumper
So many europeans are buying rear bumpers in the USA now.

hi there guys,

i have just ordered the european tail lights from ecklers so dont have them yet!
when using a multimeter what setting should i put it on to test them?

I tested on volts only.

both lines should be voltage free, and when you activate stop or turn
there should be voltage on the wire.

I do not know if the 1991 has the same colours wires but mine are all green for the lights so it is best to label them right away, otherwise you get lost in the spaghetti.

at leat I did a few times :eyerole

I am not able to scan documents but I assume someone at this forum can scan the diagram from the haynes manual for you.

good luck mate,
