Hi, Im going to be installing the dynomax ceramic coated headers and I was looking at how to get the exhaust from the headers back to thte mufflers. I want true dual exhaust. I have heard mixed concerns about the MAD true duel system. Has anyone ever tried HOK-16521HKR from www.summitracing.com
I know the easiest thing to do would be to send it to the muffler shop but I'm looking for other options.

Thanks
Mike

Muffler shops here would not install a dual system on my car since it is not original equipment. gave me some bull about a giant fine if they did it. I used the hooker 2 1/4 pipes and did it myself. Had to manufacture some hangers as the originals were gone. Not too much trouble getting all on there. Modified the length at muffler ends to make the Monza mufflers fit. They will look much better when I weld all the connectins instead of the clamp mess. Noticed a good power improvement over the 2 inch duals and turbo mufflers onthe car previously.

Used the same headers on my 77, just drive it to the muffler shop with open headers. If you dont tell them what year it is they more than likely will not know if it ever had cats or not. Muffler shops can tuck everything up nice and close and its there problem to make it fit.

I am running the dynomax headers with true duals. I wish I had an x pipe on mine only because it sounds like a machine gun when I let of the the gas.

Munday..... you want a "H" pipe on our years. My '81 has Blackjack ceramic headers w/3" collectors to true duals. Now I had the same problem with the catalytic. No shop will cut off OEM emission equip. So....... mine just "accidentally" ran over my Saz-all and then I took it back to the muffler shop. They set me up with 2.5" stainless all the way back to new Flowmaster Delta 50's, completely welded. And yes, I forgot to have them cut in my "H" pipe and mine too sounds like a gattling gun coming down from 2500+ rpm. The pipe gets cut in next month. The nice part is because we do not have a cross member with the exhaust holes, they run both pipes down the right side and the "H" pipe is a breeze to cut in. It will eliminate the cracking backfires. It was all under $450US and worth it. The shop did a superb job by also fixing the usual drooping exhaust pipe where they come together near the spare tire. One of the two stock pipes always hung a little below the other.... not now!!

Good luck!! .............. Nut
