I had a problem with the idle when I got the vette back from Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and it turned out to be the connecting linkage was crushed and was binding on the T.V. cable bracket clip.

That being all sorted out now, I started to look in the FSM for what the cable does. I found location, removal and installation, but no info on what it does.

Could someone explain what it's for and what it does? :confused

The "throttle valve" is inside the automatic transmission and affects transmission line pressure. It connects to the throttle with that cable.

The TV cable also influences forced downshifts (kick-down).

Makes sense. I adjusted mine and now it shifts hard, makes me feel like a big man.:thumb
