Extended warranty

I recently purchased a 2000 and am arranging for an extended warranty from Warrantybynet. I'd like to install Borlas and a Blackwing filter system.

GM states this wouldn't void the original warranty but any modification that attributes to failure wouldn't be honored.

Has anyone had a problem with warranty after these slight modifications?

I have SuperSprint exhausts on my car and it has not even been a question that has come up.

Thanks, Tom. The guy that did the inspection on my car for the extended warranty said vehicles with K&N filters aren't being honored because they allege the owners are not maintaining them properly. You need proper documentation in order to procve the maintenance.

Interesting point. I believe my intake is stock. A friend of mine has an '03 with K&N filters and is about to add Corsa (?) exhausts. GM tells him it will not void his warranty.

Right, they told me the same thing, however, if it is determined an aftermarket product contributed to the need for warranty work there may be a problem.

Might make for a most interesting decision if not at least an after the fact conversation.
