Favorite brand of gas?

This is kind of a spinnoff from my last post "New Vette, Great Mileage" I was wondering what kind of gas do all of you use the most [favorite] and what type you will only use if you are running on fumes and have no other choice? [running on fumes is bad!!!] I myself try to only use Amaco gas.

I prefer gas with the highest octane available. Another thing for me is to buy fuel from stations that I am happy with. This is Turkey with a lot of surprises :)

We've had lots of discussions around here on the different types of gasoline for our Vettes and even had a great presentation by c4c5specialist (Paul) at CruiseFest.

Personally, I've used Chevron Supreme (93 octane) with Techron in all my vehicles for years, and was pleased when Paul highly recommended Techron additive for Corvettes in his presentation.

I also use Texaco, which is the same as Chevron - it has Techron too, and occasionally Exxon or Shell.

Mostly Chevron (91 octane where I live), but will use any top tier gas.

I've been using whatever Wal-Mart or Sam's sells (Murphy Oil) at the 91 or better octane level. Can't complain.

BP/Amaco Ultimate 93 octane, or the 110 Leaded from Citgo (sometimes I like to sniff my own exhaust).

I use pretty much all Shell , it is the best I can find around here with 91 average oct. In this area Texaco was bought out by Shell and shell seems to be as good or better than the Texaco was. I have to drive 50 miles to get good premium so I have to put in some reg. I see a lot of people putting in fuel filters because they get dirty often. I beleive most of this comes from buying cut rate gas. I make a point NOT to buy cut rate and haven't had a fuel filter plug in many yrs.
Almost forgot, I gotta put in a pitch for the LP I use in my old pickup.:D talking 105 octane.

In my 85 L98, Sunoco 87, with a tankful of Sunoco 93 or 94 every 4 to 5 fillups.

I have had no trouble with BP 93 and if you use their card you get 5% back.

hehe, that stuff smells good don't it! Myself I use the same BP and maybe some 110 mixed in but very seldom.

Yeah it does!! Like perfume on a ______!

Exxon/shell are my first choices, but if you are in the sticks and the reserve comes on,will you walk or stop for a lesser fuel?

A recent article in the Phoenix newspaper mentioned how our gasoline supplys are piped into the valley from refineries in CA. The fuel arrives to a central yard where tanker trucks fill up from the same source, and additives are mixed IN the tanker to make the different blends that each retailer advertises as the best for your car. So if you believe what you read all the gas is the same product, with the exception of the additives.

it's all in the additives.......

Same deal up here in Ontario with the gasoline comming from the Sarnia refineries and each company adding their additives.....

I used to like the gas brand that advertised the in line filter right in the gas hose. Does anybody remember who that was? Now...whoever has the highest octane if I'm not in dire need. How bout "Flying A"?
