08 vert ,manual trans :I've stored the car for over a year so I decided I'd get it out of hibernation .Hooked up the battery with full charge but I had issues .First I had to enter via the trunk (no biggie )Got in and no FOB detected so I stuck the key in the appropriate slot in the glove box and she fired up ,nice .So I need a new battery for the FOB for about $12 thats not a problem .I only backed it out of the garage and shut it down because my wife called me in for supper (great cook). The lights we're still on after 30 minutes so I disconnected the battery again because I didn't have time for problem solving .Saturday I started all over again and decided to drive a half an hour to see if the computer would get up to speed and it did .The clock was correct and I didn't have to re-index the windows .

Ok ,all I need is a FOB battery and one unsolved issue .I cannot exit the car without using the emergency release handle (both doors )I don't think it's a fob or computer issue . Any thoughts ???????????

New battery and new key FOB battery and all issues cured .30 minute drive and computer made all adjustments .New tires and she is ready .

Good job Steve. Just a thought, don't let it set, "DRIVE IT". LOL

Yup, don't let it sit for so long, Steve.

Made reservations for Quebec City for the 4th of July .Then as soon as I have a work schedule for 2017/18 I'll spend a month in the Keys and a month in Orlando suckin up some warmth rather than shoveling snow :thumb

Correct it does need to be driven much more .Wife had a series of strokes and I didn't feel comfortable leaving her while I'd do one of my spontaneous road trips .She's doing much better so if she doesn't want to go on a road trip I can leave her .

Sadly Corvettes are not holding their value so ya might just as well enjoy and drive .

Was there ever a time when contemporary Corvettes held their value, Steve? Perhaps the specialty and/or tuner Vettes but the average Corvettes always slump...

Sorry to hear about the wife, Steve. Sometimes, life gets in the way of other things that are not as important (the Corvette). I think you have chosen wisely. Now that she is doing better and you feel that you can do more, DRIVE the wheels off that thing!. Even though Corvettes hold value better than some cars, they all lose value.
