Do the cracks around the marker light go all the way thru or just thru the paint and gelcoat?

You'll need to grind down to the bottom of those cracks and fill them back in with glass mat and resin if they are deep. I'm pretty sure they used polyester resin on those parts, but I'm not sure. You might be able to get away with just grinding away the bare glass and bondoing the part down next to the tire, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. Anyhow, this is probably a job for a pro unless your pretty good with fiberglass and bodywork.

More pics would help...

P-ferg...sorry to see/read that your first post here is about your car being damaged! :(

I agree with the above post. If you aren't handy with fiberglass body work, I'd have a professional repair it, especially since you'll be working around creases/curves in the body.

Can't give ya any idea about cost. If you can't find a good Corvette shop in your area, try finding a boat shop. It helps to have someone that knows fiberglass working on the car.

You might also try cleaning the lens on your phone's camera. A Q-tip with a drop of isopropyl alcohol usually does the trick. :D

The good news is I've seen worse. The damage you have appears to be repairable, based on your pictures.

Your original panels are SMC, so your repairs materials will have to be SMC compatible.

If you've not done fiberglass repair, there are any number of references available. I like the Glas-Ra series.

It doesn't look too bad considering what could have happened. Many sellers think that the fact that they have original 32 year old tires is a good selling point. Not so if you have any intention of driving the car.

If you do not have experience with fiberglass I would suggest you find someone who is experienced in working with it. This area is very visable, contains many curves and contours and will be obvious if not repaired right.
