I have been in Europe since 1985 and have never seen anyone stopped for speeding on the Motorway – Autopista – Autobahn etc. Last week we drove 500 miles on the Motorway through Portugal and never saw a single traffic Cop. I limit my escapades to these hi-speed limited access roads. The regular hi-ways are crowded with large trucks and have blind access roads that the locals love to ¨merge¨ from with out looking.adSPANISHVETTS, I know a time slip would be nice, but you know what you've got, no way you're not low 12's. There's not often a chance to spank anyone off the track in this country if you want to stay out of jail
England is not attached to Europe so there you can’t drive silly. They have ¨speed cameras¨ that frame your tag with the radar gun’s speed readout superimposed on the photo. But the English are ever so polite about it. They send you a nice letter telling you where to send you check for the outrageously high fine. If you get too many photos of your tag they ask you to mail them your DL and refrain from using the public roads for a period of 3 years.:eyerole
Whenever I am back home I go crazy with the stupid speed limits on the Interstate but don’t get me wrong, I do not approve of any improper driving in Town or any other area where there is any chance of someone or something getting in the way.
