the proper place for the fan blade when using a shroud is the blade tip should be half inside the shroud and half outside the shroud.

Well guys and gals...just put the fan on. Seems to operate pretty good. Maybe need to tweek the shroud...see if I can raise it a pince. Barely hits when at a higher rpm.

Here are some photos of the engine and fan:

Off Topic, but...

I LOVE all that chrome! :D

Why thank you mam.
It looks better in the sunlight. It still needs alittle fine tuning. The fan will make it alot easier. I ran it at an idle for 15 min....temp looked nice. Can't wait to romp around on it.

Crebo, -your '77-C3 is a beauty, and your new FlexFan installation looks spiffy, and while not into big-blocks owing to excess-weight/heat/bulk (why not just a 400ci-smallblock), --your installation looks really terriffic excepting for the potentially hazardous rubber/fuel-line with filter (and don't you get awful radio-static without a distributor metal-shield)! Remember, OEM-installations use a rigid steel fuel-line between fuelpump and carburetor, thereby avoiding potential of defective hose spraying fuel over your hot engine (even worse if you are employing an electric/fuelpump which just keeps on ticking until you turn-off ignition)!!! If your carb. is a Rochester, -then it has an efficient built-in fuel-filter, --don't know about Holly's (would never use a Holly, --potential fuel-leakage hazard, -owing to the inherently defective bolt-on fuel-bowl design)... ~Bob vH
:mad :( :confused

Thanks,
Don't have any radio problems. I really don't listen to it very much but when I don't have any static. I really don't like the Dist sheilds.
I know that my weight doesn't compare to small block spec's but I've lost alittle with my alunimum heads and intake. The carb is a demon....I guess close enough to Holley. I personally love the carb. I did have a holley and didn't like it. I had a edel 750...I like it pretty much but it hardly compares performance wise the this demon 850. I have no leaks...
Remember this is a work in progress. I plan to get a new fuel line. Right now it is ran avoiding as much heat as possible. There is still so much that I want to do to the car...Trying to find the money...
Again thanks for all of your thoughts and input.

I ended up going with the 1 3/4 in spacer. Took me four to figure it out.:duh . I had the 1in that one was obviously wrong. Then the 2in worked good until certain rpms. The fist 1 3/4 had the wrong polit drive.
Yesterday I got the correct one.
I really got on it a few times. I wasn't able to get it about 190. I still haven't tweaked my timing and started my use of mobil 1 syntech. And a few other things.
Anyway thanks so much for the recommendation of the might flex fan. Gonna be one of my best investments.

Thanks Again

I'm very happy!

Very happy that you have had such good results! :J
