Recall notices for 1977, Chevrolet Corvette
Year : 1977
Vehicle Make : CHEVROLET
Vehicle Model : CORVETTE
NHTSA Campaign Number : 77V115000
Summary :

THE INVOLVED VEHICLES HAVE STEERING WHEEL CENTER HUBS WHICH FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 107, "REFLECTING SURFACES".

THE HORN BUTTON CAP AND THE LOCK LEVER HAVE A BRUSHED CHROME FINISH. THE SURFACE REFLECTIVITY OF THIS FINISH ON SOME OF THESE HORN BUTTON CAPS AND LOCK LEVERS IS APPROXIMATELY TWICE THE MAXIMUM REFLECTIVITY ALLOWED BY THE STANDARD.

Possible Consequences :

Corrective Action :
DEALER WILL REPLACE THE CAP AND LEVER WITH PARTS PAINTED TO MATCH THE INTERIOR TRIM COLOR AT NO COST TO OWNER.

Let me see-

RALPH NADER PUSHED THIS ONE TOO! RATS-FOILED AGAIN!!!

I guess someone was blinded by the glare and wrecked his Vette into a car load of handicapped children and killed them all. What a tradjedy.

The reality is most likely some leftist nut whined to the right person and got noticed.

...and if you notice the early shark's inside rear view mirror had a chrome housing. In '73 that changed to a black housing. Again due to the reflections of the chrome. Guess it reflected enough light to blind the drivers going the other direction :D

Now if we can do something about those pickups with that huge flat chrome rear bumper that reflects your headlights right back into your eyes :) :) ;)

tom...

Sorry, they'll have to take mine from my cold dead fingers:r

I have yet to be "Blinded" by the horn ring :crazy

Rick :cool
