I've been considering converting my stock 81 exhaust set-up to ceramic coated headers/true duals with H pipe/no cats/ and high flow mufflers.

This would be no problem if I was staying in Georgia, but I'll be moving to San Antonio in the Spring. Will my 81 be required to pass any emmisions testing or just a safety inspection? Will it make a difference in 2006 when the car reaches 25 years old?

Thanks. I'd hate to spend the money modifying only to spend more to convert back after I move.

Only the Dallas/Ft Worth, Houston, and El Paso areas currently require testing. Could be that in the next 1-2 years the Austin area will also require testing. Cars over 25 years old do not have to be tested. So if they decided to add SA to the testing area you should be exempt.
