Need to remove the front bumper on my 84 to rplace the rubber molding. Anyone knows the easiest way to remove it? Please help!!!!

The front bumper is easier to remove than you may think. Take a look at it and you will see that it is bolted or screwed at about 4 to 6 inch intervals all around the edge of the bumper. Just remove all the bolts and screws, the ones along the top edge are the most difficult, you need to open the hood and then use an open end wrench to remove all the screws along the top edge, there will be a thin metal strip under the screws that will come off after you remove the screws. Continue removing the fasteners down the inner fenders and across the bottom edge (the bolts that hold the spoiler on also attach the bumper). Once you have removed everything you can grab the top edge of the bumper and pull it up over the re-enforcing bar under ther bumper and then just roll the bumper forward and down and it will come off. The fog lights stay on the car, they are not attached to the bumper. The molding itself will probably not come off very easily if it is old. The nuts that the factory uses are most likely rusted to the molding mounting studs and you will probably just spin the mounting studs in the molding. I cut the nuts off using a Dremel with a small cut-off wheel, if your'e careful you may be able to save the molding.

Ahhh! Glad I have you guys. Was going nuts figuring this out right now. I didn't notice the ones on the bottom.:L

*Goes back to his 24 hour fog light assembly replacement...*

Funny you mention that! While my bumper is off, I was thinking of what I should put under it to smoothen it. Was thinking aluminum, so how's it holding up for you?

Would like to here some more details of the process if you don't mind too. You car looks damn NICE!

Its just a couple pieces of 1/4 inch aluminum stock...cut out to fit the oval corners. I used Goop adhesive I got at home depot...clamped it with a piece of 1 by 6 on each side over night. So far it’s holding up superbly.
