Hello,

Everything going well with the carb rebuild (update is on its way... when I have some more time) But I found something a little weird. When I pulled the "old" fuel filter I saw a weird black plug on the intake side. It plugs into the filter, has a valve in it with a spring under it. Anybody ever seen this?

My new filter doesn't have it and I think its very very restrictive but maybe you know if I should have pulled it when I installed the previous filter..

I think its a check valve to keep the float bowls from siphoning back to the gas tank. Hope someone else chimes in to confirm

Yeah,Thats whats it supposed to be for!! Some have them, some don't!! I've never had a problem with them either way!!:thumb

Mine doesn't have it (or no longer there). Everything works fine but I still have to pump a few times before a cold start.

I guess you could just clean yours and reinstall it.
It won't hurt IMO.

Regards...,
Roger

Thanks everybody.

It's a good idea to clean it and after that pressure check it. :)
