Fuel Filter

where is the fuel filter on a 2003 corvette?

If it is not on the left rear frame rail just forward of the left rear tire, then it is in the tank.

LLC5 is spot-on.

The reason for the "either-or" answer is in mid-'03, GM changed the fuel system on Corvettes and moved the fuel filter to inside the left fuel tank. Once they did that, it also claimed in normal circumstances, the filter never needs to be replaced. Let's hope so. Pulling the fuel tank is a significant PIA.

the chevrolet dealer says my fuel pressure is below the normal... so i am thinking that when they said i needed a new fuel pump,,,maybe..maybe... they never thought of the fuel filter. i hope its outside if not then i will have to go with a fuel pump ...$1500.00

If, in fact, you do need a pump and if your filter is the later 03 style which is in the tank. Since they have to drop the tank to change the pump, tell them to change the filter, too...even if they fell its unnecessary.

Unfortunatly the fuel filter is in the gas tank, so you know what that means..
