About a month ago my 94 Roadster with the LT1 wouldn't pop right of and start. So I bought a fuel pressure regulator gauage and watched the fuel pressure at 40 PSI and then when I shut the engine down, the pressure dropped as fast I could count down! I then unplugged the vaccum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and it just poured out gas. So I replaced the regulator and it then start perfect.......for about a month. Tonight I put the gauage back on and it while running the pressure was at 40 PSI and when I turned off the engine the pressure stayed there about 45 seconds and then dropped to about 38 PSI. I pulled the vaccum hose off and gas was pouring out again! It looks like I have another bad regulator. My question is: What is causing my fuel pressure regulators to go bad? It's a Bosch part and they aren't cheap. Is there something else I need to check before I put another regulator in? Did I just get lucky and have the new one go bad? Help!:confused

My take is the injectors are leaking down, how many miles are on the engine ?

If the injectors were leaking then why would I have fuel on the vaccum line side of the fuel pressure requlator?

Yeah that does sound like a tear in the diapham!

I'm pretty sure that's the problem but what's causing them to go out? That's two this summer? Is there too much pressure?

Let me put it to you like this, I would not stand next to you in a lighting storm!

Call the boys at TPIS in Chaska, MN. http://www.tpis.com/

Fuel pressure is unlikely as the cause of your diaphragm failures.
