This is an aside from my other post "Bogs at full throt".

For some reason... after installing new pump, the rod that comes off the cam shaft is frozen. It is not acuating the pump when it is installed. It does not fall down when the pump comes out, nor can it be pulled out with fingers. I am thinking of getting some needle nose vise grips on the little sucker and yanking it like a tooth, then just replace it. Has anyone encountered this problem before and if so, how did you solve it?

Thanks
Dave

There is a bolt hole on the side next to the fuel pump that when you screw in a long enough bolt it will lock the FP shaft so it won't move. It is typ used to keep the shaft from falling out or getting lost. Make sure someone hasn't tightened up that bolt. I always used a short bolt just to plug the hole when not used.
Good luck:Steer :Steer :v

This is a 454.. there is no bolt hole. We think it's bent.

I think the bolt hole is for a 350 only
