Fuel pump question

Car is a 1991 6spd vette.

After my topend rebuild my goal is 400CHP +-10hp. Do I need a better fuel pump? And is it enough to get a LT1 fuel pump, I heard those flow more then the L98 pump? If not, what to get?

Thanks for the help. The search still dont answer if the LT1 pump flow more then a L98.

And if you install a "bigger" fuel pump with more flow, must you install a adfpr to get the fuel pressure at stock setting. Or does the OEM regulator fix that??

I think the LT-1 and the L-98 pumps are the same in that they put out around 40 psi pressure. I'm not sure if an LT-5 pump would work in the place of a stock L-98, but most likely it would. Here are some fuel pump part numbers for the LT-5 engine:

• GM Part #25163473 ($72) *Fits '96 Suburban with 454 Engine
• Airtex - E3904 ($69) (800 424 7839)
• Master- E3265 ($69)
• Neihoff - P36 (it also has BWD P36 on it) ($65)

In my case (I'm making over 500 hp), I added an external Bosch racing pump, with a surge tank, to compliment my existing L-98 in-tank pump.

Messing with your fuel pressures without changing to larger injectors won't do you any good. All parts must compliment each another when building for power.

I already got some 24lb/s injectors. My engine is not done yet, and I the issue with the fuel pump just hit me.. That I pehaps need a better one... There is always more parts to add :/
