Important! Fuse Box 82 CE/ Door latch

:confused Please help just a confused female with a 82 Collector's Edition.

Where is the fuse box located, I know, I have owned her for 20 years and never had to look for it....................also all of a sudden the door latch won't open the door, read somewhere that a rod has come off. Please if you can give me a simple explanation on how to repair this I would be most thankful....remember I am just a gal, so basic terminology is also
appreciated.

Hi Vette Gal

The fuse box is located under your dash on the driver's side. But if the door latch rod has come loose or off the mechanism, then the fuse box is not important or needed. The mechanism is inside the door behind the nice leather panel. I've never had to work on this problem, so unfortunately I can't provide better information. Someone here with more knowledge will be along to provide the info you need, I'm sure. Looks like you have a nice 82 CE Corvette!

Did the latch come off ,or is the power door locks not working????

Thanks Bill...actually the fuse box had nothing to do with the power locks. I should have made myself clear on that. Just needed to know where the box was.

Took the door panel off and it appears that a little pin came loose and the rod went through so when you pushed down on the handle of the door, nothing happened. it is pretty complicated insider that door panel and I think I best not fuss with it. We will take the car into our corvette specialist and have him fix it. Too completed for me. Just trying to save some money.

Thanks for the compliment on my car. I am proud to say that she won 2 trophies in a car show last year. Only less than 200 CE's were produced for export to Canada and mine is one of them. So she is pretty special to me.
