OK here's the scenario. Was getting about 24-25 miles to the gallon under normal driving conditions. It is a mix of around town and mostly freeway on the way to work. No complaints. Got the 'MOD' bug and upgraded my exhaust to Borla Stingers. Within a few day's I noticed the gas guage going down faster than I was use to. I immediately associated it with my insatiable need to hear the new exhaust system. Now it has been 2 months and I consciously drive extremely moderate and still I am getting around 20-21 miles to the gallon. Is this a normal thing with exhaust that flow much freer than the stock system? If so, is there anything that can be done to correct the situation without changing the Borlas?

Thanks in advance!

I would be very happy to get that mileage. I get more like 15-18 MPG in general driving with my Z06. Much of that is due to my appreciation of acceleration

I get 22 in combined city and highway driving. On the highway I have averaged 28 -30 depending how far above the posted limit, choice to drive.

Could be the CATS are pluged or restricting the exhaust???

I recently added Borlas with no change in average milage. However, I added a Blackwing also...maybe you need to do that.:pat

Thanks for the replies. In reply to the blackwing, I added a vortec rammer a couple of weeks ago and it didn't seem to make the gas mileage any better or worse. I guess it could just be me. One thing I will have to say, it sure has a lot more seat of the pants power than stock. Haven't dynoed it as yet but I am very interested to see just how much it is putting out.
